I can almost handle playing Am and E shaped barre chords, but when lifting my pinky to play an E7 or Am7 shape the new open string always turns out muted by my barre finger.
Is there any trick to doing this properly?

While you're on it, make sure you listen to Luke's little summer from the Snap a little owl album. My favourite with Renbourn.

<t>Nice playing!<br/> <br/> I notice you get almost a 90 degree angle between your hand and your wrist when doing the Bm chord which both is kinda bad for the wrist and forces a lot of extra movement. I tend to do the same and have found that the most effective counter to it is to straighten the gui...

If you want to play guitar among friends the more songs you know the better! This seems like a really good way to extend your catalog of songs a bit. A song does not have to be advanced to go home with the crowd!

Re:Fingerpicking instead of strumming
<t>So basically:<br/> <br/> As long as you hit the base not on the first beat of the chord the rest should solve itself by just playing around with the lower strings the correct amount of times? I guess that as long as you are not trying to catch a specific melody you should just stick to the same a...
