Cabro, I love that cover. Johnny Winters is a character indeed.

Fender Amps (calling all amp gurus)
<r>I'm trying to get a history of specs on the different models on Fender amps from the 40's to 79'. I know bits and pieces about the different eras, but I'm really interested in the tonal qualities of each (i.e. Pro Reverb, Super Reverb, Bandmaster, Vibrolux, Princeton, Dual Showman etc). So anyone...

Re:How about a cover that's BETTER than the origin
What about anything that Jimi covered?
Day Tripper is way cooler than the original, as well as Like a Rolling Stone.
As far as modern bands go, Okkervil River does a GREAT cover of Elvis Costello's "Riot Act".

Re:How about... LEAST favorite bands?
<t>I love Neil Young and Bob Dylan so what? Simple music with mediocre vocals feel more down to earth than... Rush. <br/> <br/> Oh yeah, I can't stand Metallica. Neil, I respect that you did the lesson on "Nothing Else Matters", but Metallica is almost as annoying as their die-hard fans, who are now...

Re:It Might Get Loud
<t>Yeah, I'm hoping it plays at some run-down theater in a sketchy part of town, just to give it some charm, but I'd be willing to go through the traumatic experience of walking through the MALL to see this. I really think the insight that this film will bring to life will be beneficial to all us gu...

<r>Tonebone makes great tube overdrive and distortion units. It'd recommend the tonebone classic. If you can find it used, swipe it up. Check it.<br/> <br/> <URL url="http://www.tonebone.com/tb-classic.htm">http://www.tonebone.com/tb-classic.htm</URL><br/> <br/> Otherwise it costs more than your Rol...

Re:How did you get in a band?
<t>I've always had musician friends, and been writing songs since I've been a wee lad, so through this, I've never felt sane unless I was in a band, or at least playing. My first band was when I was 13 and I've been starting and stopping bands ever since. It's the best feeling ever to be on stage an...
