One thing I would suggest is to alternate up and down strokes on the main riff (i.e down, up, down). Much easier and more fluid to play it that way rather than all downstrokes as the video suggests.....
just my two cents

Re: Old Crow Medicine Show Wagon Wheel by jweber71
<r>Thank you! Yeah, I'm not really a singer (which is obvious), and the amount of words in the third verse to fit into the measure along with the higher pitch is definitely a challenge! It doesn't come through in the video, but I was almost laughing out loud at myself trying to get through all those...

I guess the video didn't upload. I got a message from the site that it uploaded and would appear in this section, but I'm not sure that it did.

Country Blues/General advice
<t>I was working on the Country Blues set of lessons about 6 months ago or so because I really like that style of music and it is also an appropriate type of music for me to play in front of friends/family that doesn't necessarily involve me having to sing so much, not a strong point. Fingerpicking ...

Re: >>Target Members Only Student Video Review by Neil - Knockin' on Heaven's Door - Bob Dylan
<t>Thank you Neil and thanks to all those that posted nice things about me! I went back and listened to the melody line as Neil suggested and I heard it going up in tone on the first line and go down in tone on the second line, then continuing to alternate like that. I am going to work on encorporat...

Re: Bob Dylan Knockin on Heavens Door by jweber71
<r>Thanks to all. Ironic you should say it was relaxed and free flowing, i guess that came across, because the reality is that I was sitting at home relaxing with one of my boys who was home from school sick (nothing serious), I was practicing guitar and on a whim, just set up the iphone and played ...
