Re: Zeppelin "borrowed"

Yeah; no one would care. Just like we didn't care Hendrix recorded other's music. I am definitely scratching my head. Wonder what Buddy Guy was thinking during the award ceremony?

Re: Zeppelin "borrowed"

Actually I have heard The Rain Song was lifted also. Basically LZ I-IV is. After that they came into their own. I agree; just acknowledge it & no one would care.

Re: Zeppelin "borrowed"

Yeah; this is what I'm talking about. All I can think is J. Page played on so many other band's records as a session musician without receiving credit; he just felt it's my time.

Re: Zeppelin "borrowed"

well...I've seen at least 6 documentaries on YT lately. Not borrowed actually "covered" these old bluesmen's song's and credited themselves on their first IV LP's. The reason I checked this out is because I saw so many comments on YT about all this.

Zeppelin "borrowed"

<r>OK; a bit nervous about bringing this up (administers may remove at will) but... recently learned about the great Led Zeppelin's habit of "borrowing" songs from old, blues artists. First The Monkees, now LZ? Seriously, don't know how to process this! <E>:(</E> My very existence is shaken. Thought...

Re: R.I.P. Bob Welch

Sad indeed; also read he was very ticked-off that FM excluded him from their induction into the R&R Hall of Fame. But then again; who cares? The Hall has lost all credibility with me anyway. Think Mick Fleetwood did mention him in their acceptance speech-not sure?
