Chris Rhea

It would be nice to see some lessons by Chis Rhea. His sons are not difficult but his clean style and arrangements would be instructive.. Songs lie : “Looking for the Summer”, “Fool”, and “On the Beech” are classics.. “Road to Hell” is also well known.

Muhlenberg County

Hi all, In some notes it has been stated that Muhlenberg County, KY is in Appalachia, which is not the case. Muhlenberg County is in Western KY, not too far from the confluence of the Ohio and Mississippi rivers. Strip mining was quite the blight on the land when I was growing up. There has been som...

Chris Rea and Mark Almond

During a 50 year band reunion in St. Louis, a friend suggested I might like to learn some songs by Mark Almond. Not being familiar with him, I listened to some recordings and his music was mysterious and sometimes melancholy. I thought he fit somewhere between Dan Fogelberg and Chris Rea.. So I list...

Re: TG Live 2026 - February 14 - Instrumental Arranging Tips

Here are a couple I'd like to learn along the line of jazz standards:

Fly Me to the Moon
Autumn Leaves

More contemporary

Very hard one, where to put the melody in the chords? maybe better to do offline:

"Guitar Etude #3" Dan fogelberg

It’s a beautiful morning

I noticed there are no young rascals songs . This 60s group was very popular with at least one song staying at #1 for many weeks. This song has a lot of nice chord turnarounds and chord passages that sound beautiful. They are in rapid sequence, so the song is not for beginners but great for intermed...

Re: March 2025 3-Minute Challenge - Final Week Posts

Sorry I missed the last week but I traveled to San Diego to see my daughter and did not take a guitar, as I needed to spend the week with the family. I did do finger exercises and some rhythm drills incognito (especially rasgueado practice) each day, but it did not really fit the rules of the 3 minu...

Re: Welcome To Recommend A Lesson

Here are some favorites of mine I am working on that have other online lessons and offer some great learning opportunities.. Since TG has the most comprehensive lessons, it would be great for many of us to see them here: Chicago: “Does Anybody really know what time it is?” Easy to sing along and gre...
