This was really helpful. I have a fingerpicking exercise Neil recommended for training the thumb from getting tucked under the fingers. I don’t mind switching from standard tuning to dropped D or double dropped D ….too much. I do keep a guitar in open D (capoed for open E).

To respond to one of your questions, the more complex, chord melody arrangements on this site is the main draw for me. I have started to tackle White Bird but I have a ways to go.

This song may not be the best example, but I have found the timing or rhythm component of tablature can be useful even with strummers.
