Re:Mandolin anyone?
<t>Mandolin is one of those instruments where you can't really buy cheap and hope to be enamored. In my experience, forget about anything under $500. Re:Doc Watson
<t>Before Doc, acoustic guitar was strummed with an occasional run ala Lester Flatt. Tony Rice says, "One day there was nothing like Doc Watson, and suddenly there was." <t>Everything in the guitar chain makes a difference in your sound and playing style. Something as simple as the way you hold a pick or the pick material can change how you sound and your technique. It all matters.<br/> <br/> I use a Bluechip pick 50. Why? It's like it disappears in the extraneous s...

<t>And some more info since it was late when I posted and I was doing it one handed. =)<br/> <br/> The last few years I've been on a bluegrass kick, digging deep into Tony Rice and Clarence White. Somehow it led me to the mandolin and I've been working on that. I've been lucky enough to take some le...

<t>Hello again.<br/> <br/> My intent wasn't to promote anything since I have nothing to really promote =P Like I said I just found this site since someone linked from it to me. No harm no foul. It's nice to see things being played correctly though. Youtube is definitely home to the unwashed masses!<...
