Songs Played with a Capo

<t>If I get a song, lyrics and chords, and the songs is say G-D-G-D-Am-E-D (I'm thinking Wagon Wheel by OCMS here) and it says Capo at 2nd Fret, Standard Tuning, does that mean that when I put the capo at the second fret and play a G-shape, I'm actually playing an A major chord (A, C#, E), even thou...

Re:homeless guy playing $2000 taylor?

Everyone has their priorities. He probably had the guitar since before he became homeless, and is in love with his guitar, as many of us are. He'd probably rather starve than get rid of his guitar. Plus he can make some money with it. Then again maybe he stole it.

Re:Holding the Guitar

<t>Wiley, ah yes, there it is. I just assumed it would one of the first lessons under Guitar 101 or Beginner Lessons. Thank you.<br/> <br/> Willem, you make a good point, and eventually I'll get there. It's just that I have not yet found a comfortable position, except the classical one, which doesn'...

Holding the Guitar

<t>I may be missing this, as there is a lot at TG I have yet to look at, but it seems a good beginner lesson would be how to hold the guitar. <br/> <br/> I first learned classical guitar. In classical guitar, the standard position for holding the guitar is with the left foot up on a foot stool and t...

Re:Easy Instrumentals

<t>All great ideas for songs to work on. I was however not necessarily talking about just fingerpicking. I am working mostly on flatpicking these days and would love some more songs on here that focus on flatpicking melodies. I guess one could play the meolody for just about any strumming song, flat...

Easy Instrumentals

<t>Some easy (Level 1 to 3) instrumentals song lessons would be great. <br/> <br/> I imagine that some day I might be able to sing reasonably well, but if you were to listen to me now you'd think there is no hope. As such, I like songs that sound good unaccompanied by anything, just me and my guitar...

Re:Fingerstyle vs Flatpicking

Thanks BigBear. Maybe I'll suggest some Level 1-3 instrumental song lessons. Good luck with yours.

Fingerstyle vs Flatpicking

<t>Another possible Master menu subcategory of songs (and lessons) that might useful would be to distinguish between songs that are primarily fingerpicking songs vs. flatpicking songs. Just an idea. Of course many songs fit both so it might be confusing.<br/> <br/> And another useful distinction cou...

My Submitted Songs Like My Discussions

I particularly like the My Discussions link for quick access to them. It would be cool to have such a link for similar quick access to the songs I've submitted for voting.
