https://youtu.be/-Rh2i-ZnMb0 May 8, 2026 Today's Update was mostly a rundown of the two Spring International Guitar Camps we just had over the last two weekends. There were just a couple snippets of playing and no real theory to digest. I did have Steely Dan on my mind though and talked a little abo...

Great suggestions. I have always been fond of You Wear It Well, his Reason To Believe and Gasoline Alley. He is back on my radar.

Re: Acoustic Snapshot - Neil & Corina play Time by The Alan Parsons Project

Joe,

Welcome to TG!

I did not follow up on arranging a solo version of Time but will take a look at it again since you brought it up. I do have one of Eye In The Sky, which is a bit challenging but check it out sometime.

On The Beat - Episode 849 - Weekly Guitar Video News Wrap Up April 17, 2026

https://youtu.be/o_xRNEeUAzs April 17, 2026 I have been entrenched in Beatles songs lately (again, or for about the 500th time) and can't imaging another band or artist who has more to offer to guitar students in terms of number of songs that are fun to play and offer techniques to master. The varie...

https://youtu.be/cYHNGzabqwM April 3, 2026 Recently I have had a few students asking about bass notes, and particularly alternating patterns used in country songs (like Folsom Prison Blues). After establishing that usually you want to alternate between the root and fifth of the chord, the question c...

The Family Tree by Venice

Interesting tune that I was not familiar with from Nesh this week - The Family Tree. https://youtu.be/eE2nwX9Ca_I Venice is an American band comprising four brothers and cousins, and formed in Venice, California in 1977. They have achieved most popularity in The Netherlands. Other than that they hav...
