Hey TGers, Yesterday we wrapped up our first Spring IGC. We revamped the format significantly to be less focused on performing (Open Mic Nights), and more geared toward instruction and collaborating. We closed it down on Sunday, April 28, and on Monday afternoon I sat down with Marc for a short reca...

The Turn Of A Friendly Card - The Alan Parsons Project

Hey Gang, Having gotten re-inspired recently to take on Old And Wise , it seemed logical to look back at other Alan Parsons tunes I had considered over the years. The Turn Of A Friendly Card was the title tune from their 1980 album that preceded Eye In The Sky. This was when they really hit their st...

Re: Welcome To Recommend A Lesson

I will give a listen to the Midnight Oil tune soon.

And what additional Lightfoot songs would you suggest? I have quite a few I have considered, like I'm Not Supposed To Care, Now And Then, and maybe oldies like Walls and Did She Mention My Name.

Old And Wise - Acoustic Snapshot With Corina

Hey Gang, We just released a lesson on Old And Wise by The Alan Parsons Project, which was triggered by Corina asking me to consider shooting an accompaniment track for her to sing to. The song was on my potential list years ago and it just fell off my radar. Her message inspired me to resurrect the...

On The Beat - Episode 752 - Weekly Guitar Video News Wrap Up April 12, 2024

https://youtu.be/8Y4z5xHWyqI April 12, 2024 I mentioned last week at the end that frequently things pop up that I had not seen coming, or had planned to get into the lesson library. This week the Alan Parsons Project tune Old And Wise cut into my lesson queue and I just had to jump on it. The beauti...

The Alan Parsons Project - Old And Wise

Hey Folks, I recently got a message from my dear friend and singing sister Corina. Most of you have seen her in videos all over TG. She thought I should record an accompaniment to Old And Wise , then she would add a vocal for an addition to our Acoustic Snapshot Series. I had considered the song as ...

Re: Welcome To Recommend A Lesson

Great version indeed. Eric has been on of the best going back to his Kicking Mule days of the 1970s, a pioneer in the ragtime world. I will look at putting something similar together.
