Re: Looking for help on the strum to NEW HORIZONS

<t>Justin Who?<br/> <br/> Holy crap, Chris. I really can't think of what else to say. I liked your first version so much, I didn't think you - or anyone else for that matter - could improve it much. I thought better of the first version than Justin Hayward's. This is absolutely incredible, and earns...

Re: Here's a challenge

<t>That's an excellent idea Jay, and I had every intention to do exactly that today. I've been working on an arragement of "Soon" by YES, and it is just about ready.<br/> <br/> Then I went outside for about three hours to tame the elements (about 20 inches worth). I'm not sure I can pick up my guita...

Re: Looking for help on the strum to NEW HORIZONS

Hi Chris,

Now that Neil sorted out that out, I am really looking forward to the new version. There will be a new version, won't there?

Re: Looking for help on the strum to NEW HORIZONS

<t>Hi Chris,<br/> <br/> I think you already anwered your own question. The pattern is D-D-U-D-D-D-U-D, then the hammer on occurs on the and of the 7th beat, and either miss all the strings, or just catch the 1st string on that upstroke. If you hit the first string, don't hammer on until after you hi...

Re: Busking Raining on the Rock - John Williamson

Thanks Chris for going to the trouble of recording the capo version. And I do prefer the capo version. That won't get out of my head for a few days. This is one of those songs that I like more with each listen.

Thanks for sharing it with us.

<r>Michele,<br/> <br/> As a general practice, I try to keep my musical life simple by trying not to like fingerpicking pieces or nylon string guitars.   <br/> <br/> Double fail for me. <E>:(</E> <E>:(</E> <E>:(</E> <br/> <br/> That bass line was exquisite. Re: Busking Raining on the Rock - John Williamson

<t>I am not familiar with Mr. Williamson, but he certainly establishes himself to me as a competent artist in his version of this song. But, as is so often the case with your pieces, I prefer yours to the original. Your voice simply has some uncommon quality.<br/> <br/> It nearly isn't fair pairing ...
