Re:Fire and Rain
Thank you, Bill. I'll have some more videos up after Easter, I hope.

Re:Metronome
<t>It's usually measured in quarter-notes. So there are four metronome beats per 4/4 measure. In notation, there's often a small quarter-note (or eighth or sth else) next to the bpm number (e. g. "quarter-note" = 108). 4/4 itself doesn't tell you anything about the tempo, as others have pointed out....

Eric Johnson - Song For Life. Time signatures.
<r>Hi folks,<br/> <br/> maybe you guys can help me with a transcription problem. I'm working on Eric Johnson's A Song For Life, and since there seem to be no accurate free tabs, I'm trying to transcribe it myself. Here's the song:<br/> <br/> <YOUTUBE id="mV5dMDId7uY"><URL url="http://www.youtube.com...

Re:Taylor Jack Johnson
Yes, I'd like to see that song covered as well.
Are you sure it's fingerpicking though? It sounds more like flatpicking to me.

Re:Tab tools or chord tools for the forum?
I've seen what you done there, and it's probably the best solution possible right now but I don't think it's ideal yet. I'd much prefer to insert diagrams in the text somehow, or at least attach them in a way that they can be seen straight away, without having to download them.

Tab tools or chord tools for the forum?
<r>Seems like a tall order but maybe it is possible to provide a method of adding some chord fingerings to forum posts? You know, a little tool that looks like a fretboard where you can place some dots and circles and x's (or numbers) to visualize chord fingerings or scale positions.<br/> Or maybe s...

Re:Another question about Pentatonic scales
<t>Well, one can play every pentatonic scale in 5 different patterns, depending on which position you play them at. A minor pentatonic at the fifth fret is the standard pattern (from 1st to 6th string) 1-4, 1-4, 1-3, 1-3, 1-3, 1-4. At the 12th fret for instance it would be 1-4, 2-4, 1-3, 1-3, 1-4, 1...

Re:a great sounding guitar
<t>Generally, as far as I know, guitars with a cedar top (light brown colour as opposed to the yellow colour of a spruce top) produce a mellower sound. If you want a real mellow tone, try a nylon-string guitar. Whatever you do, make sure to spend a good deal of time testing the guitar at your music ...
