Re: Girl From The North Country by Bob Dylan

Another Bob version, from his mid-'80s shows, can be seen here. This is how I usually play it. It's sort of a hybrid of the original and the Johnny Cash version, in a way. He kind of swoops up to what I think is a D11.. It's also on the 1984 album "Real Live," but I can't find that online. I liked t...

Re: Richard Thompson

Yeah, I'd like both of those. Also been waiting for "Light of this 'World.' There are lessons and tabs out there, but none that I've found are quite right, especially if we're talking about the Jorma version (which I actually like better).

Re: Richard Thompson

I've been wanting to learn 1952 Vincent Black Lightning for years. Of course, I would assume it would be a tough lesson to put together (though not "Clap,"-tough) but that's still my vote.

Well, that Tori Kelly tune is a good one, but I liked hearing it on bare guitar better than I like the single. It looks fairly simple, so maybe I'll work it out. But it could also be a great lesson.

I have no guess for the first Name That Tune, but I'd like to know what it is, after everyone's had a chance (or just message me). I think it would be a great lesson.

Also: wasn't there a lesson on "I Am The Light of This World" coming a few weeks ago?

It's fun to imagine you and your buddy at age -- what, about 21? -- cracking up over The Muppet Show. I think I grok what your likely state of mind was.

Re: On The Beat - Episode 590 - Weekly Guitar Video News Wrap Up December 18, 2020

Heh, I was just thinking, "I should make another plea for "I Am The Light of this World," when you started playing it. It's trickier than it appears: most of what I've been able to find either hews too closely to how Gary Davis played it (which is fine, but I really want to learn Jorma's version) or...

Re: Ain't Misbehavin' - Jazz Standard

Bocephus! Well, can't say this post isn't inclusive. But I won't expect a lesson on "Are You Ready for Some Football." Seriously, though, I just realized that this song would have been great for Hank Sr. Looks like a great lesson. I must shop around for a looper pedal soon. (by the way, there's no l...
