Re: Mode-chordprogression-question

<r>Hi Ness,<br/> <br/> One of the most confusing things about writing and analyzing music is there are no rules, only guidelines and common practice. Of course this statement might be its own oxymoron but we can save that philosophy for another day.<br/> <br/> To shed a bit of light on this I would ...

Re: Giuliani Exercises

<r>Hi Gang,<br/> <br/> Great question and comments going on here. This is a situation where there are multiple ways of doing things, some better than others in my opinion, as well as a flaw in the system.<br/> <br/> The flaw is in the tab, there should not be two 3s on the 5th string. You are only g...

Re: On the Beat - Episode 147 - Weekly Guitar video news wrap up January 4th, 2013

<r>Hi Jim,<br/> <br/> I guess I could elaborate on the 'huge advantage' I spoke of. I see this more for beginners as it is more difficult to form chords than to strum them or pluck single strings. Even now when I turn the guitar over to test this theory I find it easier to strum and even fingerpick ...

Re: Wonderful Tonight- Counting Verse 1 - Question

Some tab notation uses a shorter line to represent a half note and a longer line for a quarter note. Notice the stem on beat 3 is half the size of the eighth note stems.

Re: Lagrima finger placement

<r>Scott,<br/> <br/> Remember, Tarrega uses finger numbers and string names (H=B), not string numbers, and there are 2 versions, the original and his penciled, later corrections (suggestions?).<br/> <br/> Put on your Columbo raincoat or Sherlock's deerstalker and you are on it!<br/> <br/> <I><s>[i]<...
