Re: Just Breathe by moosebreath

Nice work Moose! Especially as you've only just started on it.... I take ages to get picking songs down. Just Breathe is a really nice song.

So the the uploader didn't work? That's never happened! :-)

Re: Playing in Dropped D

Thanks for dropping by Moose.

Thanks Craig, good to hear from you! Yeah, happiness is having enough guitars :-). I also keep my 12 string in open C so I can play Question every now and then. Going to California you say... I shall take a look at that too...

Great to hear the dropped D suggestions.... Dear Prudence now has my attention. Love White Bird, its become my favourite tune to hear you play. It could only have come out of California at that time, pretty iconic of the time and place.

Re: Playing in Dropped D

Thanks for tuning in Jay! Yeah, Dear Prudence might be cool to do.
Just need to mention that The Chain is actually in double dropped D.

Playing in Dropped D

I have my BSG in dropped D tuning lately working on Fleetwood Mac's The Chain which is fun but slow going for me. Then I remembered a song I heard 30 years ago by an Australian folk singer/song writer called John Williamson. Raining on the Rock struck me as a powerful song and its in dropped D, so.....

I was able to search for John Denver songs on the site, no problem, so I think the search function is working. I sincerely hope Naz and everyone in Ukraine is safe.... mad times... God save us from so called world leaders! Chris PS. Listened to your original White Bird from a few years ago....lovely!

Re: Landslide by Ysela

Hi Ysela, sorry I am late to the party! Very nice job on Landslide. Your voice carries the song beautifully and I know that you will already much further on with your picking by the time I post. Not at all easy to pick while singing this one.... and I get your point about anchoring it with the singi...

Very nicely played indeed, Steve! A beautiful tune that you do justice to. What is your guitar? It sounds really sweet.... even though the upload mp3 compression has mangled to sound quality somewhat. Well done!

Re: AMERICA, Never Found The Time

Thanks for listening in Craig} Very surprised to hear you did not know that song. That first AMERICA album was massive in England when it came out. maybe the album released in the States was different. GeeWhy (you'll have to remind me of your real name ), Rick Beato is excellent and has many videos ...

Re: AMERICA, Never Found The Time

Thanks for listening GeeWhy. This was on their debut album simply called AMERICA, the one with them sitting in front of a huge wall photo of American Indians. Love the whole album and listened to it A LOT as a student. I have my Takamine plugged in with some reverb and chorus through a Roland amp an...
