> Going to the IGC ?...Post here for ideas on activities outside of camp time

TG started our International Guitar Camp in 2013 and now are hosting two each year, our Spring Camp at the end of April and our Fall Camp in early September.

I also signed up for IGC recently. I live in the San Jose area and may be able to offer a few folks a ride from the airport or host a pre-camp jam or something.

We can discuss it here or PM me as we get closer - it still is a way off.

I'm sure the Thursday night "TG LIve" will be something along the lines of what it used to be. However, there is an 'open mic' thing Saturday night. Matt has said there will be a camera crew hanging around yet I'm not sure if the open mic will be 'attendee exclusive' in all or part.

I have not booked a flight as of yet, I am tied in to AA (frequent flyer stuff) and will be flying into SanJose. SanFransisco is cheaper, by like $30 for round trip, not worth it unless some want to meet up there first or the like. On a special note, I understand Alcatraz is 'closed' except for pass by cruises. Damn shame!!

Quick Question and tie in to another subject. I'm looking at getting a new Camcorder, either the Zoom Q3HD or the newer Zoom Q2HD (mainly for Audio quality - the 'flip' just don't cut it there). Anyone have any experience with either??
Wiley:

I have been looking at new camcorders as well. I have the Kodak Zi8, and I love the video quality, but the sound is lacking. If you find something worth while, let me know. I have done some research on google and consumer reports, but nothing is really standing out right now. I'll have to dig a bit deeper.

Will there be a printer available where we are going to be staying? I was fantasizing about a bunch of people setting around a campfire at night, trying to play some campfire songs only know body knew the chords. It would be nice to be able to log onto the TG site and print that song out for playing :)

Is cell phone service available at the Quaker Center?

Are there emergency medical services nearby?

I believe I drove by it when I went down to visit Neil 2 years ago. And although it is in the Santa Cruz mountains, Its not what an Alaskan like me would consider remote. I doubt that we'll be more than 30 mins from anything you would ever need.

I think Scott is right, and I believe I heard Neil say that it was close to town too.
