Hi Bill,
I have now flown several times with my guitar. I don't fly with my best guitar... There's always the chance of a problem. However, some airlines let you gate-check (you walk it down the gateway and they put it in with the strollers and such). Some may even let you take it on board. So far, Jetblue has been really accomodating. I'd suggest calling ahead and finding out what their policy is.

Thanks Lynn

I like the gate check idea. I think I will get a good travel case despite the extra size just in case. I only have one guitar that I would even consider bringing to such a cool event as this. I have no choice but to bring it. I will call Southwest and see what they say. Thanks again.

If you are going to get a travel case, check with Wiley. He had a case that would probably survive a nuclear blast!..... :P :P

Great info, Wiley. I think I am going to buy one of those SKB cases and give it a shot on my next guitar journey. Thanks.

Another thought

I know that we all prefer to play our own guitars, but I do live here in the bay area , and have 2 guitars, and if anyone would like to borrow one of mine, rather than travel with theirs, I'm more than willing to share.
