40 days away!

TG started our International Guitar Camp in 2013 and now are hosting two each year, our Spring Camp at the end of April and our Fall Camp in early September.

Hi fellow IGC-ers!

We're 40 days away from camp and I was wondering, how are all the preparations going?

I mean, áre you preparing? Or just planning on going with the flow? If preparing, what are you preparing?

What do you look forward to the most?

What are your expectations?

What would you like to see happening at IGC?

Any idea what to work on when taking a Master Class with Neil?

Anything else you'd like to share? :P

Hi Vanessa,

I have been practicing songs we discussed in another thread.

I have also been trying to figure out what songs to do at the open mic and just keeping the callouses

I am looking forward to meeting everyone and just having a great time playing and learning new things.

See you soon :) :) :)

Ness:

I have to admit that life has gotten in the way a bit here at my end. Work is completely nuts, with long hours and weekends. I feel fortunate to have the work though.

We just got back from our second trip up to the Sierras for some camping and fishing. All my nails are cut short, and my callouses are gone. Untangling fishing poles and baiting hooks for the last five days has my head spinning a bit. Feeling pretty darn nervous about the prospects of attending camp this year. I am hoping things will settle down now that summer is ending, and I am hoping to get some normal practice going again. I have a song or two I have been working on, but my evening practices have been hap hazard at best. Only time will tell, and time is running short. ;)

We certainly have been BBQ'ing a lot this summer as well. If I had more confidence, they would end with some guitar playing and singing instead of cigars on the deck.... :P

Jason the real pro's have that confidence 'cos they practiced slow and perfect for a long long time and the brain can't go wrong 'cos its recorded that way into the brains, I realise that more and more,, thats why this site lessons are so good teached, measer by measer, theory, economic finger placements and so on,, the more and more I go for slow and play the hitches over and over again till they go..

Goodluck

Well 12 months ago, I promised I'd prepare better, now 11 months in and I'm going with the flow! ;-) Bob Lindsey is in town and I'm meeting with him on Sunday, so we may collaborate on a song or two for the open mic. I have a bunch of songs I'd like to try for the open mic, so I think I'll just play it by ear and suprise myself like I did last year ... although I'm not going to show off and sing in one key while playing in another like I did last year ... I hope not anyway ... ;-)

See you all there!

That is some funny stuff.... Although I don't recall the singing being out of key. ;)

I hope you and Bob have a nice get together!

Thanks for the compliment, Jason ... I'll painfully refresh your memory in a few weeks! :-)

BTW, there's a lot of Bob's again this year ... I may have to change my name to Robert ... it's what my mother would've wanted!

Safe travels everyone!

Good to hear Bob! :)

Well 4 open mic's coming up, so......the preparing is going to be worthwhile. ;)

I read you were for example working on Take It Easy, great choice! Can't go wrong with an Eagles-tune, I just LOVE the Eagles. Looking forward to meeting you and seeing you play in real time!
