2016 IGC USA Update #1 - Is It For Me?

Hi Gang,

I know it still seems like a long way off but things are filling up for California. This video has a bit of an update and some thoughts on what will be happening there.

Hi Neil, I've been playing for about 18 months now, probably an advanced beginner.
Who knows being self-taught along with TG lessons from you and Vanessa.
I practice 30 minutes to 2 hours per day. Got my basic barre (Bar ha!!) chords down. :silly:
Anyhow my question - Is the IGC event suitable for a rhythmically challenged, slow chord changing, middle-aged man that gets so pissed off at himself cuz he can't get his bumbling hands to work correctly?

I am sure I could learn a few things but I question if the IGC is too advanced for me at this stage?

In truth, there is no better place for you to go Dennis!

I'm not kidding, IGC is for áll levels. Actually last year there were other attendees mentioning the same things (before attending obviously). You should have heard them afterwards, gosh how grateful they were for showing up anyway! :cheer:

Personally, I would love to help you out with every challenge or question or whatever you might have, that's a promise.

Don't hesitate for the reasons mentioned, just get on board and be sure of having the time of your life!!!

The IGC would be a great experience for you. There are folks of all levels, and everyone is extremely supportive and helpful. The break out sessions and individual lessons are great for getting some help on all sorts of techniques. Also, you will have access to all the other attendees who help each other out as well. It truly is a wonderful time and a great place to expand your abilities.

Hi everyone

I have attended 3 IGC's and I am planning to attend #4 this year. I'm absolutely sure this is the very best camp you will ever attend. It is completely about the students. There are daily opportunities to learn from professional musicians thru workshops and even private lessons. and every day we are all given the opportunity to perform in front of a totally supportive live audience of fellow guitar students at open mic, and at mealtimes in the dinning hall if we choose.

We are also encouraged to play along with others fellow students that we meet at the camp, and we even get to play along with the professional's too at open mic and after hours if we choose.. We also have a vocal specialist who helps teach us how to sing.

Any level of guitarist is welcome and will totally benefit from the IGC experience. Those of us that are beginner and intermediate level guitarists have a great time, as do the more advanced players. IGC keeps the number of participants at a reasonable number so the experience for each individual is huge.
