Dear Campers and Staff,
I can't believe another IGC has already come and gone. It was a great time and that couldn't happen without the tremendous planning and dedication of the entire Hogan family along with Doug, Dave, Vanessa, Jim, Larry, the staff at the Presentation Center, and probably other people I'm forgetting.
Also thanks to:
[ul]Wiley - fantastic BBQ - and to everyone who contributed to it. [/ul]
[ul]Sandy - my roomie, who came in late every night, but oh, so quietly.[/ul]
[ul]The ever increasing women's contingent - fantastic showing this year! [/ul]
[ul]The newbies - I salute every one of you for bravely taking the plunge.[/ul]
[ul]Ed Chichester - for once again getting up on stage with me. It's always a pleasure to play music with you![/ul]
[ul]To each person who I sat and played with - thank you. [/ul]
[ul]To everyone who stayed until the end of lunch on Thursday to hear my Beatles set - I appreciate your support and enthusiasm. [/ul]
[ul]All the singer/songwriters - there were a number original songs - all great efforts and it was a pleasure to hear them. I hope that everyone will share them on the forum. BTW is there a songwriting forum?[/ul]
[ul]Finally, a special thanks to Dave Nachmanoff for performing the ILY song with me. I can honestly say that it was one of the best moments of my life. And thanks also to everyone for their responses to the song and sharing their experiences with me. [/ul]

With sincere thanks to all,
Lynn

It was such a fun and educational experience.
The best part was meeting SO MANY new friends.

Dennis you are too funny!

Oh, and I'm sorry I forgot....

THANKS TO VANESSA!!!!!!!!!!! for managing the open mic every evening. A monumental effort and so very, very well done, both setting up the microphones and at the same time offering encouraging words and your giant smile!

Hey everyone--

I would like to echo Lynn's sentiments; the IGC was such a worthwhile experience! From Neil and his family who were all so welcoming and kind, to the time Vanessa, Doug and Neil spent with me answering questions and giving me help to play better. Dave was so dynamic, it makes me tired thinking of all the energy he invested in working with us.

Also, to my fellow campers--I so enjoyed the conversation, company and collaboration that made our time together so special. I can hardly wait until next year to shake my tambourine! And if JFK ever finds my guitar, I'll get some practice in before then. (My connecting flight was late, so I was forced to gate check the guitar.)

I hope everyone returned home safely and I look forward to seeing everyone next year!

Woo Hoo. What fun I had. Great to see the people I met at IGC 2015 and the new folks at IGC 2016. Truly a great musical and soul inspiring 4 days. IGC is one of the best experiences in my life. Thanks for another great memory.

Love you all,

Ted

Thank you to everyone at camp for making the experience another great one! I was looking at the group photo (that Lynn sent to us) this morning and could literally list every person by name and remember their open mic's and collaborations just like it was yesterday. Oh wait, maybe it was just yesterday...

Anyway, I am afraid to start listing people individually simply because I would miss someone in doing so. So, a big thumb's up and thank you to everyone involved with IGC!

(Not everything that happens at IGC stays at IGC. But the memories go with me forever)

The "warehouse" is restocked and ready for next year. Until we meet again.....

Hi everyone

IGC just gets better every year for me. I don't think I have laughed so much, or experienced the real joy of just being with so many wonderful, kind and caring people, as I did this year. All of the new campers fit right in, and all of us that have been to IGC in previous years are all still best of friends. We are a very cohesive, welcoming group with a common goal, which is to avoid screwing up at open mic. lol.

Of course life being what it is, even the best layed plans don't Always work out. Open mic is still a little scary, and sometimes I still forget how to play the song I've been practicing for a whole year when I get up there, but that's not really what's important. It's not the end result, as much as the process, and the wonderful friendships you make along the way that make it all worth while.

Lynne,
thanks for sending out the Awesome group picture! It goes a long way to help describe the IGC experience (which is hard for me to put into words) for my family. Wonderful to meet all the new faces and rekindling friendships with those who have returned year after year. For me this year will hopefully turn out to be very motivational to help me carve out some much needed practice time in my hectic schedule. Thanks to all for another great experience in my developing music life.

Thanks to Neil and his family, Vanessa, Dave, Doug and Larry.

Bob, proud to be one of the Beagles :)

Hi Gang (to quote some great guitar teacher I know), I don't know where to start with the "thank yous", but I'll try.

First what a fabulous feeling it was to arrive at check in on Monday and have people who I've never met face to face, great me like an old friend. That was really special.

Sandy - Your initial greeting was heartwarming, as were our chat's about life, family, and friends. I will cherish the memory. Also, I will never forget your courage and pioneering spirit. Your music is much better than the credit you give yourself.

Bob Ring - as they say in Boston, I had a "wicked" good time with you. Your offer to share a ride from SFO was a life saver. I had originally planned to take the BART from SFO to Millbrae, transfer to the commuter train, and somehow hitch a ride to camp. With only 1 guitar and 2 bags it would have been difficult, with 2 guitars and 2 bags, I probably wouldn't have made it to camp. Our drives to and from and our pub lunch on Monday were great. I felt as if I'd known you for a very long time. I also enjoyed your musical entertainment.

To my "roomies" Kurt, Ron, John, Chan, Dennis and Pete...I enjoyed your company immensely. Kurt, you never woke me, thanks. Chan your coffee is the best!

To all the other campers...it was a joy to meet you, hear you play, play with you, and to hear your generous comments. I really can play better than that, but for some reason my fingers weren't listening to my nervous brain.

Lastly, a big thank you to Neil, Vanessa, Dave, Doug, Jim, Larry, and (I think I'm right?) Allen. Your dedication and long hours really showed. I was tired just being a camper, I can imagine how exhausting your jobs were...especially Vanessa...holy moley girl, where do you get the energy. I only wish we could have spent more time together. I'm happy for what we had and feel bad that I was wishing for more from someone who was so busy.

Neil - It was a joy to meet Nani, Corey (forgive me if I got that one wrong), Lizzie, Rebecca, Anne, and your Mom. You truly have a beautiful family. Having your children perform like that has got to be one of the biggest thrills for you and Nani.

Jim Bruno - Your lesson was the highlight of the camp for me. You let me believe I can sing. C5 from an almost baritone...shut the front door!!!!!
