Bruce Cockburn ‘Going to the country’

If you know of a song that you think would make a good lesson, here is the place to bring it up. As of May, 2015 we have over 800 song lessons but are always on the lookout for more. Be sure to point out what about the song makes it a good candidate, unique or unusual, a particular part that interests you, or just that you think a bunch of members would enjoy it. An embedded video would be helpful as well.

Hi Neil, Thank you for all the fab lessons you and the totally guitars team have created here, I’m relatively new to your site, but the standard and style of teaching here is exceptional, and ive learnt so much already, really grateful, thank you !
Would you consider doing a lesson on Bruce Cockburn’s ‘ Going to the country’ ?



It’s a fantastic, quite fast finger picking song with strumming elements too, chords are fairly straight forward, but the finger picking is complex ( well it certainly is for me !) and I imagine it would be an excellent song to do as a lesson with a lot of scope for teaching technique etc, that could be useful to a lot of us students !
I’ve got everything crossed that this may end up as a lesson here some day 🤞but whether it does or not, thanks for considering it.
