Who would like to see more Nick Drake lessons? - Which Will

If you know of a song that you think would make a good lesson, here is the place to bring it up. As of May, 2015 we have over 800 song lessons but are always on the lookout for more. Be sure to point out what about the song makes it a good candidate, unique or unusual, a particular part that interests you, or just that you think a bunch of members would enjoy it. An embedded video would be helpful as well.

Can you have too many Nick Drake lessons?

I've just requested Nick Drake's Which Will as a TG lesson. I love the way he incorporates repeating motifs into his song and then sings over it in a free form way too. Who's with me in wanting to learn it ? Please vote for it if you do.

I think he's awesome.

I'd love to learn Know too. Hmmm... Maybe I should attempt to ...

Michele:

I really enjoy Nick Drake as well. I know that Dean is also a fan. Heck, he could probably post a lesson or two himself. He has done a wonderful job on a handful of them. B)

I really like "Which Will", Northern Sky", "Blues Run the Game", "Three Hours", "Clothes of Sand", "Time of No Reply", and "Place to Be".

Any additional ND songs would be welcomed. :)

Yeh!

I'm hoping Dean might pipe up of course. Guess teacher spot from the community? Well it's worked before right? ;)

Add to the list Day Is Done, Fruit Tree, Man in a Shed and ... Well almost everything from the Pink Moon and Five Leaves Left albums.

Thanks old man. :P

I've loved every ND lesson on the site and more could only be a good thing.
Black Eyed Dog would get my vote too, or Rider on the Wheel.
Which Will was one song I learned from online tabs and was a tough challenge to sing and play, it's still probably my favourite Nick Drake song among a long list. I find it amazing how he could spin pure gold from simple ingredients, this song just sums up how transcendent his gift was.

Speaking of simple ingredients Michele! Here you go:

KNOW
Tuning - standard
A and D strings only:

|---------789|
|7--7-7--7---|

not totally sure if the 789 is a hammer
or a slide - i like to hammer 7-8 and
slide 8-9.

you have to lift off the left hand on the
low notes to match the record - listen
for that fret buzz (probably would help
to play it on a high action gut/nylon
strung guitar).

Thanks guys!

Don't forget to have you vote recorded here
http://www.totallyguitars.com/index.php ... Itemid=202 or the powers that teach may not know there's more interest in Which Will.

Dean - thanks for that. I can play the notes to the right rhythm but it sure isn't sounding mesmerising like Nick's so far. I need to work out how to lift my hand off while keeping to flow. I'll keep trying. My nylon has normal- lowish action.

Thanks Dermot.

Harvest Breed is cool too. Again it's a repeating pattern. Love it.

Thanks for the votes in the request a lesson page guys.
