Kevin Morby - Dorothy

If you know of a song that you think would make a good lesson, here is the place to bring it up. As of May, 2015 we have over 800 song lessons but are always on the lookout for more. Be sure to point out what about the song makes it a good candidate, unique or unusual, a particular part that interests you, or just that you think a bunch of members would enjoy it. An embedded video would be helpful as well.

Hello, All.
I've been digging Kevin Morby lately, and his song Dorothy (about his guitar, fittingly enough) has quickly become a favorite.

There's a great acoustic version here. The chords look fairly straightforward but I like the rhythm in particular, and there are a lot of rhythm changes that I think would be good to have a lesson on. I for one always have trouble with going back and forth to double-time strumming and adding a "bounce"), so I thought I'd give it a shot here. If you like as well please chime in!

Best,

Hey Luke!

The 'bounce' eh? :) Yeah, that is a fun one to throw in there, since it adds so much rhythmically. There is one lesson in which i elaborate a LOT on this, which is Don't Answer Me by The Alan Parsons Project. I highly recommend looking at that one, I couldn't explain it in more detail than how i did in there.

Good luck!
