First came across this guy while touring Novia Scotia. Since then have bought a number of albums and recently saw him live. He has some great songs - nearly all accompanied by acoustic guitar. You can check him out on youtube. Here's Red Wing Blackbird. Not the best of recordings but there are others.

That was really a neat song. Does he always have the same guitarist?
I just looked at his website and he has put out a lot of albums!
How would you classify this style? I like it.
Wish his tour was coming closer to my area.

This guy is really fascinating. I saw him six months ago at the Stone Church in Newmarket, New Hampshire. He tells funny anecdotes before each song, each story lasting several minutes. Very entertaining.
Not sure if he plays any instruments. Mostly writes lyrics and sings, from what I could tell.

Oh I've gone and done it this time!!! My great grandfather William Stirling Robertson of the clan Donnachaidh would want to throw me further than his caber for making that mistake . Here's a picture of me wearing my kilt. The shirt studs and cuff links belonged to WSR. My face is as red as the Robertson Red Modern Tartan. Here I'm wearing the clan's hunting tartan.

You didn't miss anything. I couldn't get the jpeg file to upload, so I did it as a video on YouTube.
Enjoy!
