Buddy Holly wrote this song and he recorded it in his apartment in New York in December, 1958, shortly before he died. Buddy just played his acoustic guitar and sang it. Buddy's version was overdubbed with the lead parts after he died and released later. You can find that version too. I've also included a link to a version by Chris Isaak. I saw Marty Stuart in concert last month and he played a very nice acoustic version as well but I can only find versions of Marty playing the song with a full band.
