I don't think Lindisfarne made any impact in the States, but they managed a few hits in the UK and they were kind of UK folk rock. This song is a really good song for acoustic guitar quite a few chord changes but basic chord shapes that link together well but also include a few little fills and bass runs
I get a lot of fun out of playing and singing it-the neighbours maybe not so much- but I think it's one people who don't know it will enjoy to learn. I guess Lindisfarne are a bit like Smokie and Strawbs

The closest we have come to traditional English Folk is the couple Pentangle tunes from last year. I recently dug out some similar bands and played them randomly over a couple days. Lindesfarne was included along with Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span, Fotheringay, The Strawbs and even Silly Wizard.

Listening to Meet Me On The Corner, basic strumming song but interesting progression. And a little unusual for the folk vein.
