Mandolin Wind -Rod Stewart

If you know of a song that you think would make a good lesson, here is the place to bring it up. As of May, 2015 we have over 800 song lessons but are always on the lookout for more. Be sure to point out what about the song makes it a good candidate, unique or unusual, a particular part that interests you, or just that you think a bunch of members would enjoy it. An embedded video would be helpful as well.

Mandolin Wind is a great tune, not exactly a hard tune to play but it does have so a useful triad move up the neck using the D shape and some moving double stops for the intro and what I for sure struggle with is getting the correct run down on the final parts of the intro which in itself is a pretty good exercise in quickly running down the double stops

I think there is only one Rod song on here Maggie May and I get that some of his songs are pretty simple just expanded by some great solo's weaved in by Ronnie Wood. Some of his best stuff is his Dylan versions mostly 3 or 4 chords although his early album version of Gasoline Alley could be interesting as a lesson

But Mandolin Wind into on the final quick run down I've tried those last two moves before the D chord closes but whatever I try never sounds right, so if you ever get to thinking of another Rod track lesson maybe you can consider it
