Welcome To Recommend A Lesson

If you know of a song that you think would make a good lesson, here is the place to bring it up. As of May, 2015 we have over 800 song lessons but are always on the lookout for more. Be sure to point out what about the song makes it a good candidate, unique or unusual, a particular part that interests you, or just that you think a bunch of members would enjoy it. An embedded video would be helpful as well.

Hello Neil and group!

First go at this. So I didn't see this as a lesson. My brother and I are starting to work on folk songs and ran into this one on Boardwalk Empire Loudon Wainwright version. I think he does it in D. I capo 2 and makes the walk down easier on the D (C shape) Bm is now an Am shape. Relative to capo, Dm G C Am Dm G C. All open chords. Soooo you put a Danny Boy version together, very nice and a stretch for me and includes melody line. Wondering if you can add a melody line to this one!

Another key would be fine too, Ive done it in A capo 2 (G shape) relative to capo Am D G with walk down Em Am D G

Thanks
Dave

If for whatever reason this is not on your list, no worries!

You Know the Night, by Jackson Browne
I love this song. The lyrics were written by Woody Guthrie and Jackson put the music to it . Teachable elements include fast strumming and a varying tempo. Only chord chart I've seen was on Ultimate Guitar and it seems to have some errors. (I know, big surprise, right?) So I turn to the ever-dependable Neil. Thank you!
