Lately I have been obsessed and preoccupied with this project: a solo version of Blackbird. It is almost ready for prime time, and soon to be a lesson.
Having taught a few different versions of Blackbird to hundreds of students over the years, I always assumed combining the melody with Paul's accompaniment fingerstyle version would be impossible. For some reason, a couple weeks ago I questioned jumping to that conclusion and decided to tackle it. As I got a bit into it I started to change my mind and could see I had to press on with it.
It is still a bit of a work in progress but here is what I have a couple weeks in, with a lesson on the agenda at TG soon.
