Check out this catchy tune - latest lesson from Nesh is It Never Rains In Southern California by Albert Hammond

It Never Rains In Southern California is a song co-written and recorded by British-born singer-songwriter Albert Hammond. It appears on his debut album of the same name, and was released in 1972.

This lesson is primarily aimed at guitar players who want to learn and improve their basic open chords, including how to practice transitioning from one to the other. Add in a basic strumming pattern, a straightforward progression, and it turns out to be a perfect song for beginners.

We take a look at the chords in 4 different keys. A, G, C and D. The Key of A, which is how Albert Hammond plays it, turns out to be the hardest.

To advance one's musical understanding a little, we break down the progression by using the Nashville Number System. The beauty of it is that it applies to all keys.

I would recommend to try them all out, since it adds a lot of wealth of understanding how music works. It also gives a good opportunity to work on most of the open chords.
