Andy, a site I was at seemed to indicate that Soprano and Standard were the same thing.

According to them there are only 4 types.
Soprano often refereed to as Standard = Smallest body, hardly any bass
Concert = Slightly larger than Soprano/Standard
Tenor = Larger size and more bass
Baritone = Largest and most bass

Have you seen this before or is that site all wet?

Ric,
It depends on the maker. Each maker has a selection of body styles, just like Gibson, Martin, Taylor... Anyway, some of them have both soprano and standard and some claim its the same thing. 6 of one, half dozen of the other.

I saw those Oscar Schmidt's - and they looked like a brand that the cheaper end ones would be junk. So you'd have to spend 200 and up to get a decent one.
That pretty much goes for any uke producer.

Question-

Do the chords in the tab work for a regular guitar as well? Is it possible to just capo this high on my guitar and plunk away? No uke for me!!

Al, Yes. Just capo at 5 and you are good to go.

So now that you have a whole section for Ukulele Songs, I hope that means you'll be adding more! I have several ukes (my favorites are my KoAloha concert and Fender tenor), but unfortunately my playing ability has not kept up with my UAS (Ukulele Acquisition Syndrome)! I'd love to see some Hawaiian favorites like Blue Hawaii, Lovely Hula Hands, Pearly Shells or even Crazy G! I'd also like to see more detail on your strumming pattern; maybe slow it down a little? Whatever, I can't wait to see more.
Thanks,
Debbie

Wouldn't a capo at the 3rd fret and playing the top 4 strings be standard tuning for a ukulele?

I'm pretty sure it is the top 4 strings at the 5th fret on a guitar.

Hi Debbie. Those are great choices. I'd like to see Honolulu City Lights myself. And it just so happens that Neil is friends with Keola.
