Hey all the latest lesson is live ...

This lesson has some history , with Neil traveling to Hawaii spending time with Keola and eventually doing the concert here in Cali with Keola..

This arrangement of Here Comes The Sun is done slack key style in Taro
Patch Tuning, that would be Open G in other cultures- D G D G B D. It
features an alternating bass line and just a few chord shapes.

Level 5

Hope you enjoy it..

Hi Matt

Yep I watched it
Lovely tune
But I've got so much on my plate
Then there's the comp, driving me crazy, lol
Hope to get to it someday.

P.S congrats on the 911 (posts)
Is that synchronicity or something like that?

I started this last night.

Bit of a drip feed approach. I just looked at the first four bars.

It's a great arrangement and sounds really nice

I was just listening to some slack key on Youtube from one of the players that came to California Musicfest in 2009. It lasts for 3 days in the Grass Valley Fairgrounds. Features 8 stages w/ dancig and playing from Musicians from all over the world. Tommy Emmanuel was there last year with about 40 others. Keb Mo is coming this year, more on that later. I listened to one of last years featured players and he is Hawaiian and plays "slack key" style guitar. About 3 or 4 days later TG comes out with Here Comes the Sun in Slack Key style. Too much. I was already in DADDAD tuning so not to much change in tuning neaded. I printed out the TAB and listen and watched Neil play it. I did find it difficult to play and after about 1/2 hour realized that this one was going to have to be a long term project. I love alternate tuning and slack key is even better when played well. Maybe some of the other finger picken players can pick up on this one in fairly short order but it is a long term project for me. Gary
