Today's Target and Pay Per lesson release is now live

This is one of four special lessons that Neil created for me .

If you are interested in the story of why these four songs were selected you can read today's issue of on the beat

http://www.totallyguitars.com/blog/newg ... ssons.html

Stuff And Nonsense was written by Tim Finn and recorded in 1979 by his band, Split Enz on their album Frenzy. The song is generally played on the piano and this lesson shows a bit about how to play a piano style accompaniment on the guitar. It also includes a 'Fly On The Wall video where Neil and Matt are working on the song. It is a level 5 and available now to all Target users and folk who want to grab the Pay Per Lesson..

Hope you enjoy it

Cheers

Matt

Great song although covered to death in NZ by every wannabe. Tim's voice isn't what it used to be nowadays. Tim and Neil Finn are the John Lennon and Paul McCartney of NZ for those that haven't heard of them.

Here are the lyrics for those interested...

Disobey my own decisions, I deserve all your suspicion
First it's yes and then it's no, I dilly dally down to duo
But I got no secrets that I babble in my sleep,
I won't make promises to you that I can't keep

And you know that I love you here and now, not forever
I can give you the present, I don't know 'bout the future,
that's all stuff and nonsense

I once lived for the future, every day was one day closer
Greener on the other side, this I believed before I met you
I soon learned your love burned brighter than the stars in my eyes
Now I know how and when I know where and why

And you know that I love you here and now, not forever
I can give you the present, I don't know 'bout the future,
that's all stuff and nonsense

Thanks for the lyrics, I'll be learning this song for sure. Split Enz and Crowded House were big here in Canada in the late 70's and early 80's. I liked this song so much I talked my fiance into having it as the first dance at our wedding. Definitely a bit of stupid choice after reviewing the lyrics. :)

I just recommended: Neil Finn "Only Talking Sense". Would be nice to see several Neil Finn songs here.
