Today's Target and Pay Per lesson release is a gem, one of my all time favorites and something I have started to have a go at learning..

Mark Knopfler is one of the most talented musician’s to have come along in the last 50 years. This lesson is on one of his acoustic masterpieces, Romeo And Juliet.

The song first appeared in 1980 on Dire Straits’ third album Making Movies, and remains a standard in Mark’s performances and a fan favorite still today. The song is played in Open G Tuning with a capo at the third fret, and uses what is really a free-form picking/strumming technique.

Hope you enjoy this

Cheers

Matt

Well I'm stunned. I was driving into work this morning listening to this tune and thinking "boy I hope this becomes a target tune at some point"...and behold, it is so!

Thanks guys. Awesome tune.

I'm sure I'll be in the minority here. I've got nothing against this song.

But how disappointing to log on and find out that the Romeo & Juliet lesson was Dire Straits.
Being someone who LOVES classical and Flamenco guitar I was hoping it was the Romeo & Juliet (A Time For Us) version. You need more CLASSICAL and especially FLAMENCO lessons.

How can one send a post directly to Neil instead of round about way?

Joe, there is already a lesson on the song I believe you're refering to:

You might want to check out Hector's other lessons, if you enjoy classical guitar.

Thanks, Neil, for this lesson. Love the sound of the open G tuning!

Bright Shiny Object Alert!!!!!

Just like Tony I heard this song the other day while I was traveling and had the same thought that it would be a great lesson. Thankfully I wasn't really working on much at the moment. Well thats not entirely true either. Thanks for another great lesson Neil!!!!
