Today's Target and Pay Per Lesson is now live

Closer To Fine was one of the first hits for The Indigo Girls, Amy Ray and Emily Saliers, and has remained one of their most popular for over 20 years. The song features some quick strumming using a fairly easy set of chords, which act as a perfect accompaniment to their tightly woven harmonies.

This is a Level 5 lesson.

The song that brought me to TG. Thanks for fleshing this out for us, Neil.

One thing: I think there is a typo on the 2nd line of the chorus. You have D11 followed by Cadd9, but I'm pretty sure that it should just be a C.

Thanks!

Suzi

Hehe! Well, if my dream of being a guitar Goddess doesn't pay off I might have to fall back on one of my different talents- such as being nitpicky.

:)

Thanks again! It's a great song and a really nice lesson.

You know Neil, all you needed to go with those girls and the song, was a campfire.

Honestly I think this would be as much fun as I could hope to have by me learning to play, and I'm sincere when I say, Lessons portrayed like this could really hit a home run for TG. Not that you haven't done that already, but this song preview shows everyone just how much fun playing and singing can be without being up on a stage in front of thousands.

AND if we're lucky, since Suzi really likes this song, maybe we'll get to see her having fun with it as well.
