Hi Everyone,

Today's Target and Pay Per Lesson release is now live.

You're So Vain is one of Carly Simon’s biggest hits and a song of much speculation on the subject matter. We will save that for another day and take a look at just playing it on the guitar. This lesson goes over the basic parts- strumming the chords and adding a little piano fill, but also includes a way to play the introduction that incorporates parts done on the bass, acoustic guitar, and piano as well. Important techniques that are covered are percussive strumming using the left hand to mute the strings, and right hand palm muting to muffle some bass notes.

Enjoy this Level 5 lesson.

This is a great lesson .... that fast A-C picking thing is hard and sounds great when Neil plays it.

I'm still trying to get the 1/16th strumming for Bob Segers Accomp'ny Me sorted.
1/4's to 1/8th to 1/16th .... 4 beats of 1/16's just turns into a mass of noise for me.
It's difficult to separate the beats at 1/16ths
Thin is I know it's all in the lesson.
Well I'm getting there but wife is catatonic staring at the walls now!!

In the lesson Neil mentions a chart.
I don't see any Pdf charts attached.

Thanks

I did'nt see them either,,

Who cares about playing it... all I want to know is who is it about?
Did Neil reveal all? ;-).

Actually, to my knowledge she has never said who the song is about even though she has been asked thousands of times over. You could easily make some educated guesses but who knows. Did Neil say what he knows? I haven't watched the lesson yet (I have enough to work on at them moment  :S )

A classic song. And an excellent lesson, as usual. No surprise there. But did anyone notice the pipes? Nice job, Neil.

I did. Way to go Neil!
It looks like TV is paying off for you :-)

That aside. I agree this is a great lesson.
Lots of good extras and technique in there.
Of course only at TG could that happen!

Thanks Neil
