Neil - thanks great song and band! I also checked out the BBC Wales documentary on YouTube you suggested. Fascinating but sad.
BTW, I'm finding, that - although I CAN finger the D chord as you suggest - I'm finding it more comfortable for me to just use the thumb to pick up that last G note on the run leading up to the D.
My thumb dexterity has really improved recently due to my using it more....

This is a humdinger ... what is NOT in this tune ?
It's got a catchy melody, need to master some strumming patterns, flat picking, arpeggios, the list goes on: layers and layers of technique. Then hopefully singing on top of it all !
And the lesson has what is needed to either play it in a very basic way or to take it to the limit. Great lesson
