Hi Everyone,

Today's Target members only lesson is a new Fly On The Wall.

Like many guitar students, Sandy doesn’t change her strings very often, and certainly not often enough to get comfortable or quick doing it. This week we took some time and I took her through my approach to it. The headstock on her guitar is not really visible in most of this video (need a better cameraman!) but I figured the description and techniques would come through a bit anyway.

Hope you enjoy!

That may seem like a very simplistic process to someone who has done it a 100 or more times. But for someone who is just starting or is unsure about how to go about changing strings, its a real nice feeling of accomplishment once its done.

Good job Sandy.

It was explained to me that every time I tune I should stretch the the string first which causes the pitch drop and then to tune up.
The process being repeated, stretch - tune up, until the guitar is in tune.

I was advised that following this procedure of stretching and tuning up will keep me in tune for longer.
