Hi Everyone,
Today's Target and Pay Per Lesson release is now live.
Mr. Soul is a Neil Young song that has gone through many incarnations, not unusual for his songs. It started out as a rockin’ hit for The Buffalo Springfield in 1968 and later appeared as a darker acoustic tune on Neil’s Unplugged album. This lesson covers playing the song in three different tunings, Standard, Dropped D, and Double Dropped D, as well as a bit on improvising in different modes.

Did you change the camera position slightly or zoom in a tad or something? The site logo is slightly blocking your left hand, at least in the preview, which is a bit distracting. I never noticed that before - I sampled another vid and it looks like it's usually zoomed out a bit more.
Somehow, I never noticed the similarity between this riff and "Satisfaction" until just now.

Hi Neil, what has happened to the Neil Young package lessons? I went to purchase it today and couldn't find it. PLEASE tell me you are currently making a Neil Young super pack , like you did with the Beatles. That would be amazing!

Neil, thanks for this lesson. Mr Soul is fun to play, but I was trying to play some harmonica with it wIth a D harmonica but it didn't sound so good. What is the best harmonica key to play for this one? Does Neil young use special modal harmonicas or something? Thanks, beaker

Since the song uses D7 as the main chord you should try a G harmonica, which would have the F# as well as the C natural. A C harmonica might work as well but give a different sound. Try those and let us know what you think.
