Hi Everyone,
Today's Target and Pay Per Lesson release is now live.
Wichita Lineman quickly became one of Glen Campbellās signature tunes as his musical stock started rising in the late 1960s. Jimmy Webb wrote it, along with a bunch of other incredible songs, in his unusual style, using jazzy chords, uncommon progressions, and unbalanced phrases. This lesson looks at the chords progression and a couple different ways to play an intro. There are lots of barre chords involved.

Wow, thats a blast from the past. I thought I was playing it right back in the day, during my first attempt at playing a guitar, but I see now that I wasnt close.
Also, I have'nt checked in a while, but it seems that this was yet another song on the "recommend a lesson" list
Thanks for that neat old memory Neil.

I have been a Glen Campbell fan since I was a youngster watching him on Hee Haw, his own TV show and many other specials while I was growing up. Man could he play guitar back in the day! He was a studio musician in the early 60's and couldn't even read music. But he played with the Beech Boys, the Monkey's, and several other big time groups before breaking out on his own in the late 60's.
So, the reality is that watching and listening to him was one of the main reasons I first wanted to learn how to play guitar so many years ago. It's all his fault!
The Rhinestone Cowboy did a farewell tour last year with 3 of his children in the band backing him up. I didn't make it to a concert but would have loved to. Mr Campbell has been a huge contributer to music as we know it today.
Thanks for the lesson Neil! Now I will learn this song correctly...

Well, he still has that voice... and he can play some too!
Good for you Glen, great to see you have built a family that, literally, backs you to the hilt.
