Hi Everyone,
Today's Target and Pay Per Lesson release is now live.
For You is the final track of Tracy Chapman’s first album and is like most of her songs, a great song for beginning guitar players. It features some beautiful lyrics, just a few open chords, a simple yet great sounding fingerpicking pattern, and syncopated chord changes. We also take a look at the percussive strumming pattern in the chorus.
Enjoy this level 2 lesson!

Nessa,
You have SO found your calling. THIS is what you were born to do. I second Cori's comment. You REALLY are a natural born teacher. The fact that you love teaching, playing and singing and using music to express yourself generally comes through very strongly.
This lesson is another gift to us. There are so many valuable techniques and concepts that I still need to master in this "simple level 2 beginner" song; percussive strumming, syncopation, the appropriate fingering to move from one open chord to another while fingerpicking efficiently. There's SO much detail in here. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your eye for detail and the fantastically clear and straightforward way that you describe it. Just the way you count out the fingerpicking and the strumming is great.
Great song, GREAT teaching, GREAT PLAYTHROUGH. GREAT, GREAT! GREAT!! GREAT!!!
I'll be getting this down FOR SURE!
It's turning into a Tracy Chapman song fest for me.
Thanks for inspiring me yet again to learn these beautiful songs Ness.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your work.
