Hi Everyone,

Today's Target and Pay Per Lesson release is now live.

This beautiful ballad by Dan Fogelberg is from his 1979 album Phoenix. It is played in Open G Tuning using easy chord shapes. The lesson covers Dan’s arpeggio picking, playing the chord progression in standard tuning, some chord analysis related to open strings in open tunings, and a segment on the arrangement and how to follow repeat signs and text repeats such as D.S.S. al Double Coda.

Enjoy this level 5 lesson!

Thanks Neil! I love this song for weddings and such.

I actually learned it in this tuning after Vanessa played it on the forum for us several months ago. The open tuning makes this song much easier than the original way I first learned it. Dan was a great song writer and I am confident that he had perfect pitch hearing. Anyone that can sing so perfectly, all the time, had to have perfect pitch. What a wonderful gift to share with the world.

Thanks again for posting.....

Awesome lesson, love this song. I try and play it on my Resonator which is nearly always in Open G as a work out being a high action for slide it helps with finger strength. Maybe now I can play it properly with this lesson tidying up some of the left hand stuff I've been getting wrong all these years.

PS Chris will be along shortly on this one I'm sure.
