Hi Everyone,

Today's Target and Pay Per Lesson release is now live.

If It Kills Me, by Jason Mraz, is another great track from his album We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things, which came along with his huge hit, I’m Yours.

It’s in the key of D and features an intro and verses that are catchy and muted, several barre chords, a distinctive bass run, and a simple 4/4 strumming pattern. The lesson is mostly based on his early performances, but we will also take a look at how he has been playing it in recent years, using Drop A tuning.

Enjoy this level 4 lesson!

Yeh!!!!!! :) :) :) :)

Nessa I LOVE that you've become a Mraz fan and especially that you're teaching his songs now. Actually I revisited your Beautiful Mess lesson on the weekend to study the nuances you'd taught in there. I don't have the singing and playing together yet but I'm working on it.

This is another tender and cheeky song of his that I just love.

I'm waiting for the bus right now, but I hope to start getting into this lesson at lunch. Woo hoo!

I love that you've used this lesson as an opportunity to teach relative and absolute key concepts again.

Besides learning the Mraz songs you've been teaching, I'm now applying the Mraz style picking/strumming approach that you've taught in another if his songs, Details in the Fabric. So...your teaching has helped me play his songs beyond the specific ones you've taught to date. A HUGE THANKS Ness.

BTW - your new guitar sounds great!

I'm REALLY looking forward to lunch. :) :) :)

TGNessa,

This is another killer lesson, beautifully taught. There's lots to work on in here for me, including the freaky stretches, the barres and the cool left-hand muting. You really explain it in the perfect amount of detail. I LOVE the bass runs, SO cool. Thanks so much.

The play through..... OMG that is ... Stunning! I truly think that Jason couldn't do a better job of performing it more passionately, you're obviously singing from the heart. It's so good that Jason should consider getting you up on stage to perform it for him. Now that's a concert I'd LOVE to see, Jason and Ness playing together. :)

Thanks for another brilliant Mraz lesson. :) :) :)

Oh and after watching your enthusiasm, there's no way I won't be getting into this very soon.

I LOVE your work.

Shel

Michelle

I think it means when the words fail.
When the Lyrics (words) work, then they haven't failed.... I think!

I wonder if the music's failed then :S :S

What's the senario, if both the words and music fail , or both work.

I suppose if it's not broke, don't fix it

Or, is that, if it's working break it :S

:S :S :S

:silly:

Just had a thought..... in ET... the music speaks.... no words  ..... not sure that works though !!

:P
