Hi Everyone,
Today's Target members only lesson is a new Fly On The Wall.
Kurt is one of our TG members who joined us at the IGC in 2013. He lives in Sacramento, about 2 hours from TG Central, and came in for a lesson a couple weeks after camp.
The first parts of the lesson consisted of some general chatter about camp and TG, then we started working on smoothing out Heart Of Gold by Neil Young. A few tips about pick and strumming technique had it sounding a bit better. We then worked on better understanding of the counting and it really improved.
In Part 2 we talked about alternate ways of fingering common chords, which led us into exercises for improving the dreaded ‘A’ family of barre chords, particularly the major shape using a hinge barre.
Enjoy!

Kurt, that's funny, I thought the same about Neils singing 4 years ago..... but .....
I'm not sure if Neil made a conscious effort but it's so much better now.
When it's out of his range he just makes light of it, I think that's really cool.
As you say his guitar playing outshines all of that too.
I hate football but I'm like a football fan who's never kicked a ball shouting "You messed that up"
Difference is I know it and admit it !!
Life's too short eh ?
This is great thanks for sharing.

Hey Kurt,
Glad to see you made it back to take a lesson with Neil. I hope to do the same someday - although I have a little further to travel. Thanks for sharing with us. Great lesson and it was good to see you playing again. You've really improved a lot in a short time with the guitar!
