Hi Everyone,
Today's Target members only lesson is a new Fly On The Wall.
As is our custom, Ed’s lessons head in the direction of the wind.
This week he pulled out St. James Infirmary Blues, which led us into discussions about chords in a minor key, what creates the dissonsnce in a dominant seventh chord and the way voices want to resolve, how different seventh chords create blues or jazz feels, and even a little on John Prine’s use of a major seventh chord in Hello In There.
Enjoy!

Hearing Ed play this at camp, and watching this lesson inspired me to finally learn this song. I learned to Arlo Guthrie version because I couldn't quite see which chords were used in this lesson. I'd like to learn this version, too.
