Hi Everyone,
Today's Target and Pay Per Lesson release is now live.
This staple of the classical guitar world was written around 1720 and designated as a piece for the lute in the key of C Minor. Preludes usually serve as introductions to a suite of short pieces in a given key but this one stands alone.
There have been many arrangements done by guitarists over the years and I have finally gotten around to my own. The lesson looks at quite a few different fingering possibilities, and even some impossibilities.

Well that's my weekend sorted then! I've been looking forward to this for months since you trailed it Neil, just those 7 measures look a proper challenge.
Loving it!

HI Neil, I really like this classical piece. When I first learn to play almost 40 years ago, it seems that all the good players had this song in their repertoire.
Will the guitar pro file be eventually added?

Dean & Marc,
Thanks for the positive responses to this piece. It really did take much longer than I anticipated as there are so many options, plus I had to really get playing it under control. I will add the GuitarPro file a little later. I am still working on a few measures.

I listened to your snapshot a several times the other night.
It's amazing to listen and watch you.
Thanks for taking the time to put together lessons on the piece.

Is the tab supposed to be available? I'm not seeing it.

Some alarming stretches in the left hand with this one. Sounds incredible.

"Alarming" is a term I have not heard applied to guitar pieces recently, or maybe ever. This piece is very challenging on many fronts, in spite of the fact that some people see it as a "beginner's" classical piece. Absolutely not!
I am really looking forward to working on this with everybody who decides to tackle it.
