IDK , but as far as I'm concerned, it can't hurt!neverfoundthetime wrote:I don't understand. Are you saying that in order for you to write lyrics you need loads of chocolate? Does chocolate help you think? This will require a serious amount of chocolate!

I mean, after singing your lyrics, it will require lots of chocolate to feel happy again, Daryl. Took me an hour to recover!
Well done on taking a real situation and working it through in the lyrics. Terribly sad story.
And yes, Swiss chocolate does help you think. Definitely!

Chris, I'm glad you were able to sing along. I really wasn't sure how "obvious" my lyrics fit the melody. I'm also touched that the lyrics affected you so much. Thanks for the kind words. It is sad to watch my friend go through this but like I said, I had no intention of writing about it. Neil's melody just made it happen. It's funny how song writing works sometimes. BTW I am hoping others (Michele and Tom at least) will step up and write some lyrics.
Being a sucker for a challenge, I might give this a go this evening.
Neil - Is it possible for you to post an audio-only track for the video where you're playing the accompaniment and the melody? It would be useful to be able to download it and listen to it on repeat. The GP file of the melody is useful but doesn't give the full mood and is hard to listen to for too long.
Thanks
Michele

I have added a link to just the accompaniment, shot in the dark and cold tonight, under the video in the original post. ...About all I could do with the rest of the team in different time zones. Check the original post and see if that helps.

Straight from the heart Daryl, might try to sing this to the melody later to see how it works.
Good job! I bet this just poured out from wherever these things come?

Pretty heavy Daryl (Just watched a Paul McCartney interview, can you tell?) B)I thought of this as an interesting "challenge" rather than a collaboration. So I thought I'd try my hand at some lyrics. I didn't know where it would take me. But I ended up writing about a friend of mine who just recently lost his wife after sixty years of marriage. Just start Neil's video at 10:17 and sing along.....
And Winter Grows
----------------------
So here's where I sit
With thoughts of you
Running through my old mind in the dark
And now I don't know
How I can live with (just)
Mem-or-ies of you and me
Lost in a summer's breeze
And here's where I live
Alone with you
In my mind lost in time and I cry
And now all I have
Of you and me are (those)
Mem-or-ies of long ago
Lost in a summer's breeze with you
Bridge:
And winter grows so long
Without you around
And I don’t smile any more
And winter grows so cold
Without you around
And I won’t love again
So here's where I sit
With thoughts of you
Running through my old mind in the dark
And now all I have
Of you and me are (those)
Mem-or-ies of long ago
Lost in a summer's breeze with you
In love with you
In love with you
Straight from the heart Daryl, might try to sing this to the melody later to see how it works.
