Hi Everyone,
Today's Target and Pay Per Lesson release is now live.
Cat Stevens wrote a bunch of great guitar songs, most of which featured little melodies or riffs worked into the strumming. Where Do The Children Play is the opening track from his 1970 album Tea For The Tillerman.
It consists of a very basic chord progression but includes an unusual, unbalanced measure layout in the intro. There is also a very distinctive melody woven into the I-IV progression that opens the tune.
Enjoy this level 2 lesson!

Thx Neil, great song.
I saw Cat/Yusuf live at London Hammersmith last November, on the opening night of his recent tour. It was an exhilarating performance. Alun Davies, who played all those sneaky second guitar parts on the early albums, was on stage with him as a member of the band and they remain great friends after all these years.

Love this song and I am always stunned at the shear energy and power of Cat Steven's live performances, he's solid gone, man!

I think I just got my pick back !!
I think I just got my pick back !!
Great lesson!
During the verse the line of C sounds different that it does during the intro. Sounds like he plays a measure of C then a measure of B and then repeats that without the half measure of A. Am I hearing this right?
Also is anyone having trouble playing this video recently.
Thanks
