Hi Everyone,

Today's Target members only lesson is a new Fly On The Wall.

Ed has been spending a lot of his musical time lately working on his singing. It is very easy to forget melodies the way the artist did them, especially if you don’t go back and listen to the original for many years.

In this segment we went back to listen to Donovan’s recording of Colours, paying strict attention to every nuance of the melody. This included finding the notes on the guitar and understanding their relationships to the harmony.

Enjoy!

Neil and Ed

This was a fun FOTW.

I laughed when Ed said " Thats a bit boring, I thought there was more going on" !
It's like Magic, once the secrets out the illusion's destroyed !
That said it's pretty cool and interesting, when Neil plays it, eh?

I suppose with an easy left hand fingering focus can be on the right hand strumming technique.

Which song lesson do you teach the banjo frailing style of strumming in Neil ?

Made me have a quick look at the Colours lesson too.
Colourful lesson too.

Thanks for sharing

Dermot

Haha, those folkies.. they worked out how to make it sound great without making it complicated.

Never mind, we've always got Heliotrope Bouquet to keep us busy.
