Hi Everyone,

Today's Target members only lesson is a new Fly On The Wall.

Robb is a long time TG Member from Tacoma, Washington, who has attended our first two International Guitar Camps. He made a visit to Northern California and we were able to coordinate a time for a lesson.

He sent me a list of topics he might like to cover, leading with questions about Spain by Chick Corea. At first I wondered what we could possibly do with this cool fusion piece that is not really guitar friendly. It turns out his question was very general, mostly focused on reading rhythm. The first part of this lesson consisted of clapping exercises and breaking down complex patterns into manageable chunks.

In Part 2 our discussion started with a little jazz history before getting back to Spain. We also looked at a few other tunes from The Real Book.
